How old do I have to be to rent a jet ski?
You must be 18 years or older with a valid government-issued photo ID.
How old do I have to be to drive a jet ski?
California law requires operators to be 16 years or older to drive a jet ski. Any drivers under the age of 18 must be accompanies by an adult and approved by us.
Do I have to wear a life jacket?
Yes. Everyone on the jet ski must wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times.
Can I switch drivers during my rental?
Yes, but only if the other driver is listed on the rental agreement, meets all legal requirements, and has been approved by us.
Can I let my friend drive if they weren’t checked in?
No. Anyone not approved during check-in is not allowed to operate the jet ski.
Can I ride after sunset?
No. California law only allows jet skis to operate from sunrise to sunset.
Can I drink alcohol before or during my rental?
No. Operating a jet ski under the influence of alcohol or drugs is illegal.
Can children ride as passengers?
Yes. Children must wear a properly fitted life jacket and be able to safely hold on during the ride. We do not currently have life jackets for children. Therefore, you are responsible for bringing the properly fitted life jacket for any children riding.
Do I have to follow speed limits?
Yes. You must obey all posted speed limits, no-wake zones, and instructions from law enforcement or harbor patrol.
What happens if I get a ticket?
Any citation or fine you receive while operating the jet ski is your responsibility.
Can I tow a tube, wakeboard, or skier?
No. Towing any person or inflatable behind our jet skis is not permitted.
Can I leave the riding area?
No. You must stay within the approved riding area explained during your safety briefing.
What if I damage the jet ski?
You are responsible for any damage caused during your rental as outlined in the rental agreement.
